Tourist Icon Severely Damaged By Bushfire
The fires Monday evening around Daylesford have destroyed almost 2 klm of railway line between Daylesford and Musk. It is estimated that over 2000 sleepers have been burnt out along with damage to rail and other items of track infrastructure.
As such all rail services between Daylesford - Musk - Bullarto have been suspended indefinitely.
Services that may run on the remaining 1 klm section from Daylesford Station are yet to be decided.
Although this is a huge setback for the railway and its volunteers we are determined to see the railway rebuilt bigger and better than ever.
The DSCR would like to acknowledge the amazing work of the CFA and DSE over the past two days in response to these fires.
