Brief History Of The Class.
As part of the order for 10 Petrol Electric Rail Motors in 1929, 5 matching trailers were built to be hauled behind the new motors. They were numbered 26 to 30MT and were fitted with end communication doors for access to the motor when underway. They remained in continuous service from 1930 until being withdrawn in 1982.
Interesting Notes.
Last D.E.R.M. trailer withdrawn from service in 1982.
Restored to service in 1995.
Restoration Policy
26MT matches the D.E.R.M. in representing its appearance as it entered service in 1930.
