    Brief History Of The Class.

When the order for the first 5 of the 153hp Walkers were placed in 1947, a matching number of trailers were ordered. When the second batch of 153hp Walkers were delivered, these were also accompanied by trailers to bring the total number to 15. They were numbered 50 to 64MT and remained in service until the late 1970s, when they were withdrawn alongside their companion railmotors. The last trailer in service was withdrawn in 1981.

    Interesting Notes.

56MT was the first of the second batch of trailers.

    Restoration Policy

56MT is stored and is currently timetabled for restoration after the completion of 32RM. It will be restored to mid 1950's condition to match 32RM.
